The Thomas Stieltjes Institute for Mathematics is a Dutch research
institute in mathematics and carries out research
in four main areas of fundamental and applied mathematics:
- Algebra & Geometry
- Analysis
- Stochastics
- Operation Research

The Stieltjes Institute is a member of the
European Research Centres on Mathematics
(ERCOM) .
The Stieltjes Institute, founded on November 12, 1992, has a
research training program for Ph.D. students and has received
formal recognition as a research school (onderzoekschool) from the
Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences
(KNAW).
