Personal notes

  • New employees

    Ph.D. Students:

    - Drs. G. Wiese per September 1, 2002, with Prof.dr. S.J. Edixhoven.

I am a PhD student of Bas Edixhoven and have started working under his direction in December 2001, while he was still in Rennes, and now I have moved with him to Leiden. Before that, I studied mathematics in Heidelberg, with a one year interlude in Cambridge (England). My principal interests are in number theory and arithmetic algebraic geometry and I am looking forward to working in Leiden.

    Veel groeten, Gabor

  • Guests:

    Guests of Prof. R. Tijdeman:

-A.J. van der Poorten (Sydney, Australia) will be a Stieltjes visitor at Leiden University until October 19.
-P.Z. Yuan (Changsha) will leave Leiden by the end of October.

  • Doctoral exams, September 27, 2002

    - E. Randsdorp
